Hi, This I don't know. I'm not sure what is the problem, but I think I've had similar thing few years ago when we had Skype. The solution was to use the web version with Google Chrome. You *may* get some additional diagnostic info what is going on if you try to launch it from command line and see what is printed there. - Adam PS.
