[SuSE Linux] Setting up aliases for my computer
I am currently running SuSE 5.2 and I need to set up my ftp server with two DNS names. I want the outside world to see ftp.jrc-utah.com while inside it can be greedo or ftp. I know there is a command to set up eth0 to respond to 2 names, but I can not find the info how to set it up. Thanks in advance! -- Robert Williams robert-williams@uswest.net Jarob Consulting rwilliams@kde.org Provo, Utah rwilliams71@mailexcite.com

begin:vcard n:Williams;Robert x-mozilla-html:TRUE org:Jarob Consulting adr:;;;Provo;UT;84604;USA version:2.1 email;internet:rwilliams@jrcmaui.com title:Consultant fn:Robert Williams end:vcard

Just off the top of my head, you might get this effect if your inside machines have entries in /etc/hosts like: 192.168.45.23 greedo.jrc-utah.com greedo ftphost Then you can reach that machine as ftp greedo ftp ftphost OR ftp 192.168.45.23 -- yours, Andy - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>
