[SLE] ftpusers to prevent anonymous ftp'ing
Hi, I add the following entries to /etc/ftpusers anonymous guest guests hoping that it would prevent anonymous ftp'ing, but to no avail... and I did restart inetd. Additionally, I am using in.ftpd (as opposed to proftpd or wu.ftpd). man ftpusers suggests that what I did is enough, but... What am I missing... rebuilting a database? It may seem amazing, but the answer to: [SLE] Re: gnome-list digest, Vol 1 #274 - 13 msgs uggested the solution to may problem -- I needed to look into /etc/pam.d/ftpd and comment out the line: #auth sufficient /lib/security/pam_ftp.so After this, ftp by anonymous users is blocked... Thanks... and if there's other way of doing it, I would like to hear from you.
