it needs python-devel package to work. i found that out when reinstalling using source file, not rpm. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Then you sould make a bug report against the fail2ban package stating such as the rpm should provide a route to or complain about the missing dependency. http://bugzilla.novell.com tks, -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You haven't started it and haven't configured it to start at boot as root: to start: rcfail2ban start to configure to start at boot and confirm the setting: chkconfig fail2ban on && chkconfig --list | grep fail2ban **Note I'm guessing at the "fail2ban" config name, it may be something like "fail2band". Confirm and adjust the commands above. -- David C. Rankin, J.D., P.E.
