By the way, gmail does the same. But they provide an imap interface, and there you can delete the trash remotely and easily.
But as I posted up-thread, Gmail lets you decide what happens to the email after you retrieve it in the case of pop, and what happens in the case of imap. You can choose to "delete forever" which is supposed to be immediately. As to how fast immediately is, and how complete "delete Forever" really is, there is no say to tell this, EVEN if you run your own mail server. Google says this: http://www.smartplanet.com/blog/thinking-tech/does-8220delete-forever-8221-i... But even when you run your own in-house mail server, as I do, you can't trust anything beyond your own server, and which ever servers handed your server the mail may have copies saved for some small period of time. And as much bad-mouthing as I do about the NSA, I suspect mine are saved forever. ;-) -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
