RE: [SLE] ATI All-In-Wonder graphics card anyone?
Yes, These drivers work well for the radeon card. Also, to get 3D working use DRI and GLX. To get these to work install Xfree86 4.1.0 and then untar/zip the binaries over the Xfree86 consortiums drivers. Then in your XF86Config file add load "DRI" and load "GLX" to the modules section. Now you should have 3D. Now to get the TV tuner to work remove XawTV(if already installed by RPM) and D/L the newest version from the net. Untar/zip the file and run ./configure -enable-xvideo to get XawTV to work. Continue with make and make install. Now boot up XawTV and set the channels. Enjoy TV on your linux system. -----Original Message----- From: Dale Schuster [mailto:dschuster@horizoncasino.com] Sent: Wednesday, August 29, 2001 7:08 PM To: Milnes Terry SSgt 52 OSS/OSOMS Cc: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: RE: [SLE] ATI All-In-Wonder graphics card anyone? I am using a ATI All in Wonder Pro w/ a Rage 3D Pro chipset. If you are using Xfree86 4.1.0, this card is fabulous. All you have to do to get the TV card to work is go to the livid website and get the GATOS binaries. I have not tried to do PVR usage w/ it. Also, any Hauppauge card works well. However, ATI does double duty.
Do the above mentioned drivers work for the Radeon chip as well? Does anyone have experience with the All-in-Wonder Radeon card? I'm using it now on a stock 7.1 install. It works well for normal operation (i.e. desktop stuff), but can't get any of the specifics to work such as 3d gaming and video/TV tuner. I imagine I need the newest KDE and proprietary drivers, but haven't taken the time yet. Just thought I'd ask the question here when I saw this thread pop up. Thanks in advance for giving me help when I haven't even started the leg-work myself. <embarrassed> ~Dale ________________________________ Dale Schuster MIS Manager Lake Tahoe Horizon Casino Resort dschuster@horizoncasino.com
