What is your default file manager
I know this seems so simple but I am curious. I ask this because I loaded krusader and really like it. But I noticed from time to time it crashes and takes away the ability to close any apps when I use it using konqueror does not do this and it is unpredictable whats causing it. SO I wondering what everyone else uses and just can't do without. -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Elijah Savage | AOL IM:layer3rules Senior Network Engineer | When it has to be switched or routed. http://www.digitalrage.org | The Information Technology News Center ----- http://www.digitalrage.org/?page_id=46 for pgp public key--------

Just use it, no need to read the manual. Just browse the menus to find if, no, how it does what you want at the moment ;-) It is very fast, compact, and has some interesting tricks. I only use a graphical file manager when I need to see "graphs" :-p - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFEQM6DtTMYHG2NR9URArj4AJ4udpvK93BpD2LBFeWTQzeT0fqbjACeIvVe b0lhX/nIvmIERDN0pb5qm7M= =ra0k -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Good programs, with a good user interface, do not require reading the manual to get going fairly well. If you don't know, can not guess, how a certain feature works, surely the program will have a context sensitive help key that will explain all you need. Then, mc is one of those programs. Even OOo is in that class. True, a manual for OOo would be nice sometimes, like for database operations; but it is easy enough to start typing a letter and get it printed, more or less the way you want, by trial and error. - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFEQ4dltTMYHG2NR9URApPbAJ4jEB7EO63BAMeBQchHqP8zx+dkgwCfVZGO 96FJ8vA/skaD9m0zJ0olEJU= =NaUL -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

mc, midnight commander. Can do nearly anything and works in text mode which I prefer. Old habits .... -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2

OFM: http://www.softpanorama.org/OFM/index.shtml . Coming originally to Linux from DOS/Win/OS2, I had to have a workalike for Norton Commander. That's traditionally mc on Linux, whether console or Konsole, and the only thing I routinely use on it. My OFM favorite by far is Brian Havard's File Commander, but as shareware, he hasn't found incentive to port it to Linux. I've tried Krusader, but never get far before it crashes. -- "Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them." Ephesians 5:11 NIV Team OS/2 ** Reg. I use Gworkspace.app: http://www.gnustep.it/enrico/gworkspace/ However as root and for consoles I use mc. Charles -- /* Only Sun can take such nice parts and fuck up the programming interface * like this. Good job guys... */ linux-2.6.6/drivers/net/sunhme.c

I don't use a filemanager much, but when it's just plain konqueror. /Per Jessen, Zürich
