Hello,
I might have stumbled onto why I can't get connected to the internet from my Home Linux PC. The modem I have is a US Robotics internal 28,800 PCI.
28.8 *and* PCI? Are you sure it's not ISA? (long black slot: ISA, short white slot: PCI [generally speaking])
SuSE finds my modem and all is well when it tests it. But I have never been able to get authenticated by any of my ISP's. Could this be a problem with my modem (I didn't think it was a win modem, but I might be wrong)
Probably not a hardware problem. What errors to you see? Is your ISP using CHAP, PAP, or what? What tool are you using to connect? WVDial, KPPP, GPPP, or standard scripts?
What is URL of the modem list for SuSE please?
