[SLE] Problem-Disappearing Suspend button in KDE ??
Hi, When trying to suspend my computer in the hard disk, it does not appear this option. Not update my kde, only the updates of ZEN/YAST. Any idea ? or Suggestions ? thanks a lot.!! -- (c) Argentina www.gnu.org

The /swap partition is used to store your system's memory state for a suspend-to-disk. Is your swap partition larger than the total amount of RAM memory in the system? Not absolutely necessary but suspend works better if there is more swap space than in-use memory. Then in your /boot/grub/menu.lst there needs to be "resume=/dev/hdc1" (that is my machine's setting) that points to your swap partition. Let's start with answers to these questions. You have apm=off and acpi=off so I don't think suspend will be offered on this system. ACPI is the preferred power management method _IF_ (big if there) your system supports it. Try removing acpi=off or changing acpi=off to acpi=on and see what happens. You may have to install powersaved and/or kpowersave also. Hi everyone I recently bought myself a new machine, and installed 10.1, with KDE. Everything seems okay - thus far. I transferred my "old" hard drive to my new machine, (as a second drive), with all my data on it. I succesfully re-created my account, and pointed it to my "old" home folder. I want however this data tranfered to a new home folder, on the new hard drive, in order for me to clean up the old drive. I succesfully "moved" the other user's on the machine home directories, but when I move mine, I get all sorts of errors. Should all programs (wine, nero, etc...) be re-installed before I try to "move" my data. Currently, when i copy the data to my home folder, after I created the account with a "empty" home folder, it will not allow me to log in, as it tells me my profile is screwed up. Is there perhaps another way in "moving" you home folder? I have often reinstalled over an existing home folder or copied it over. Never a problem. Try deleting the user, copy the data and then recreate the user. Make sure the user ID number is the same.
