[opensuse] 11.1 extremely slow boot/halt on VMware..
Anyone with ideas on what makes 11.1 so extremely slow at boot and halt time when run as a VMware Server guest? 11.0 was really fine, but 11.1 can take up to 6-7 minutes just to come to 'Starting udev'. Same goes for a halt, it takes up to 10 minutes to halt the VM. Anders. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hi Anders, Try to boot with options "hpet=disable clocksource=acpi_pm" This should help.

Thank you! That certainly did it.. Now I just have to read up on the kernel documentation to figure out WHY it worked.. ;-) Anders. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
