SuSE 8.0 + KDE 3.0.2 + telinit 5 = broken for me
Hello everybody, I ran YOU and upgraded to KDE 3.0.2 (both the recommended and optional packages simultaneously). When my default run level is 3, I can log in as an ordinary user, type startx and KDE 3.0.2 starts up beautifully. However, if I set the default run level to 5, I do get the pretty login screen, into which I type the same ordinary user name and password. At that point, I get a blank background, an xterm, but no window manager, and no KDE. Typing "exit" at the xterm brings me back to the login screen. The same occurs for the root user. I can neither imagine what I might have done to cause this nor where I should go to fix it. Have others seen this problem?
