Hi, can anyone help me get my isdn to work under SuSe 7.0? its detected by yast2 at install, and allegedly configured. But then when it tries to load in the modules it hangs the entire machine. Which isnt something I've seen under linux often before. I cannt get another shell, reboot, kill it. Anything. Plus seeing as it thinks it should be up it tries to start it every reboot afterwards so I've had to reinstall compeltely just to try a new tactic. It is an Asus-com P-IN100-ST-D, which was autodetected (and i'vetried configuring it manually from yast1). it is able to load slhc.o, isdn.o but when it tries to load HiSax.o thats when my pc dies. It tries with the arguments type=35 (asuscom I'm guessing) protocol=2 (euro isdn) id=HiSax. I've also tried it without arguments but that causes a fatal crash too. The card does work under windows, but I like to do everything cept play games in linux, but I miss my net connect. I might have to stick my old modem back in. Any helpful suggestions? Greg PS I've read the how-tos, faq, sdb, and I've even tried drivers fro asuscom themselves (just a version of hisax theycompiled)
Is it a PCI or ISA card? I have an Asuscom ISA, and if yours is the same, I can tell you how mine is configured. fxf -- ______________________ Courtesy of SuSE Linux Kernel 2.2.17 (who Kares?)

Hi Greg, first, there is a german speaking (english entries welcome) ISDN list: suse-isdn@suse.de. For your problem, I guess there is sort of IRQ mismatch causing the system hang / crash. You do *not* need to reinstall. OK, ISDN is configured and causes the same crash on reboot, but use the rescue system and turn ISDN off in rc.config: I4l_START=no. With the next reboot, you get another chance for trial and error. ;-)) I recomend suse-isdn though... ;-) Juergen <p> -- =========================================== __ _ Juergen Braukmann juergen.braukmann@gmx.de| -o)/ / (_)__ __ ____ __ Tel: 0201-743648 dk4jb@db0qs.#nrw.deu.eu | /\\ /__/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / ===========================================_\_v __/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\
