Hi all, I'm running SuSe 5.3 on one of my PC's. When I dial out it seems that everything is doing well. But when I close the connection or it times out, (after 60 sec.) and I want to connect again, it dials connect and go off-line after 2 or 3 seconds. I have to reboot my PC first, before it works again. Furthermore when I open Netscape, and get connected, and the dial times out after 60 sec. for example when I want to read a page on Internet, and than click on another link, the connection goes online and off-line, every 2 a 3 seconds. Does anyone have also this problem, or know the problem of this behavior of diald. Any suggestions welcome. I also have another problem. When I start netscape form the desktop, the desktop, (background) turn in to snow, all kind of colors, and when I move the mouse over the desktop the screen of Netscape becomes black, when I move the mouse over Netscape it becomes normal again? But when i start Netscape form /opt/netscape/netscape everything works fine. Does anyone have an explanation for this? Where can I adjust the desktop? By the way, what is Wvdial, as I can find the file at SuSe homepage but no information at all, what it is or what it does? Where can I find more info about this program. Any help suggestions welcome, Thanks rgds Wil - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>

are you using 8bit color (256 colors) there is an option for netscape --install, that switches the colour map, so that netscape can display more colors. makes the rest look a bit uply. If the focus changes, colors change too. normal behaviour. if you start it like "/opt/netscape/netscape --install" you'll see the same "feature" Juergen -- ========================================== __ _ Juergen Braukmann mail: brauki@cityweb.de| -o)/ / (_)__ __ ____ __ Tel: 0201-743648 dk4jb@db0qs.#nrw.deu.eu| /\\ /__/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / ==========================================_\_v __/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\ - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archiv at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>
