Hi, had a hardware defect and got a new mainboard (MSI) with an onbard soundcard: Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 Azalia Subsystem: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. Device 7388 Codec: ALC888 I'm on openSUSE 11.0 / Alsa 1.0.16 I can't get Alsa to capture anything from the attached microphone. The microphone works as I can hear myself when the Mic output is on but I can't get it recorded for example with arecord. That stuff is usually a wrongly configured mixer but I've played around now for a long time and still couldn't get it to work.
