Easy Question on Konqueror
Hello list, If I am not completely wrong, Konqueror should support netscape's plugin for flash and for java. What I am completely missing is how to install those plugins! Thanks Praise
Hi If You have "standard" installation of netscape and it's plugins, konqueror will find them. You can also add them manually from settings->netscape plugins (or whatever it is called in setup, mine is in finnish :-)) Jaska. Viestissä Sunnuntai 14. Lokakuuta 2001 17:02, Praise kirjoitti:

Put them in the usual places, such as ~/.netscape/plugins or /usr/lib/netscape/plugins, then configure Konqueror to use them (it's in the settings menu of the web browser). You may also want to check "Check for Netscape plugins on KDE start." ===== -- -=|JP|=- Hit me! - http://www.xanga.com/cowboydren/ Jon Pennington | Debian 2.3 -o) cowboydren @ yahoo . com | Auto Enthusiast /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | ICQ UIN 69 67 29 31 _\_V __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Konq and Mozilla are mature enough that I'm ready to get rid of Netscape alltogether...Perhaps SuSE or the LSB could come up with a standard place to store common browser plugins rather than depend on assuming that everyone has Netscape installed. As far as I'm concerned, Netscape is a 'legacy' app, no longer a Linux standard. David A. Riggs

I did that a long time ago, until I reinstalled SuSE on this machine.

SuSE may be able to, but the LSB could not; these are application issues, not distribution issues.
As far as I'm concerned, Netscape is a 'legacy' app, no longer a Linux standard.
That depends on your perspective, doesn't it? :) It's a well-known fact that if it weren't for Netscape, Mozilla wouldn't exist, and that the primary purpose for Mozilla to exist is to be a testing and development platform for the next Netscape browser product. Mozilla is far more than a browser, and far more than a development platform, but the natural evolution and reintegration has occurred. Netscape 6.1 is a kissing cousin to Mozilla M19 from the practical standpoints, if not from the code. ===== -- -=|JP|=- Hit me! - http://www.xanga.com/cowboydren/ Jon Pennington | Debian 2.3 -o) cowboydren @ yahoo . com | Auto Enthusiast /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | ICQ UIN 69 67 29 31 _\_V __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
