Greetings. I have been using K3b to burn CDs and DVDs with SuSE Pro 9.2, Gnome, on a P4 2.8 Mhz 1 GB Ram. Today, it went on strike. It errors every time I try to burn a DVD (with a Sony DVD RW DRU-710A writer) using a Sony DVD+R disk (I have used these disks successfully 9 times before).
The error message is:
"Could not find growisofs executable."
I would appreciate any guidance as to how to proceed.
rpm -q dvd+rw-tools, and if it is not installed, reinstall.
Or, "which growisofs" and if it isn't where it is supposed to be (in /usr/bin/), force a re-installation of dvd+rw-tools :-)
Darryl - "growisofs" isn't in usr/bin (or anywhere else that I can find). How do I force a re-installation of dvd+rw-tools? sorry, I'm clueless about such matters. See Joe's last message -- there is a URL for a 9.2 rpm you can use. You should really upgrade your entire installation, you know. Version 9.2 is no longer supported, and soon 9.3 will bite the dust too (sometime during the summer next year, whenever the next release is due out). -- The best way to accelerate a computer running Windows is at 9.81 m/s² -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

As 9.2 is out of support, most probably you will not find a repository with this rpm. But it should be included in your install media for 9.2, so if you still have the CDs, you will find it there. -- Svetoslav Milenov (Sunny) Even the most advanced equipment in the hands of the ignorant is just a pile of scrap. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
