[opensuse] 11.1 install stage2 - kernel oops in attach_nobh_buffers() - has anyone else seen this?
I've just been installing two new office machines, and both produced this problem - a kernel oops (null ptr in attach_nobh_buffers() during stage2, even at exactly the same point (postfix config at 81%). Totally reproducable. It sounds a lot like what this patch is meant to fix: Dave Kleikamp (1): vfs: Don't call attach_nobh_buffers() with an empty list but that didn't go into the kernel until 2.6.29-rc4, which barely a week old. I'm going to install 11.0 instead, but I was just wondering if anyone had seen this problem? /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (-2.2°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

If you boot single user and start the network by manually invoking the rc scripts can you get to the web? If so, factory went to 2.6.29-rc5 a couple days ago. Thanks Greg, that might be worth trying - for the moment, I've installed 11.0, which had no probs. /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (-3.0°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
