[SuSE Linux] Two ATAPI CDROMs
My systems has two ATAPI CD roms attached to the same IDE port. I know they are both being recognised at boot by the Kernel. But the /cdrom only seems to refer to one of them. I assume I've got to add an entry to /etc/fstab similar to the entry mounting /cdrom. But what is the device name I use ? -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A>

Take a look at the output during boot with dmesg to see what entry is given, you should see something similar to the following: hdd: aCeR Cd-787E/SaS, ATAPI CDROM drive hdd: ATAPI 6X CD-ROM DVD-RAM drive, 240kB Cache obviously, my cd would have the entry hdd as you can see, yours will differ of course, but this should give you an idea. the IDE devices should have an entry of hda, hdb, hdc, hdd depending on how many you have plugged into the system. -- S.Toms - tomas@primenet.com - <A HREF="http://www.primenet.com/~tomas</A">http://www.primenet.com/~tomas</A> S.u.S.E.
