[SuSE Linux] Real Player for Linux
Has anyone successfully gotten a real player to work for SuSE 5.3. I downloaded the version from RA for Linux and installed it. I think it's the same as the rpm version. It's version 5.0. I just followed the install instructions and it works. Gerry On 09-Jan-99 Mike Orr wrote:

This has been my problem too. I even contacted RealAudio by phone as well as e-mail...no joy. BUT,.. apparantly RealPlayer Plus G-3 is coming out for Linux soon.

Realplayer 5.0 works here, Mike. I have an AWE-64 and OSS commercial drivers. I also did NOT get the RPM version. Yes. Under SuSE 5.3 Realplayer 5.0 (not the RedHat version since being glibc'ed!), under SuSE 6.0 Realplayer 5.0 (definitively the glibc'ed RedHat version, others [e. g. Linux-ELF] will not work). You get those versions directly from www.real.com.
