how to enable "swat" on SuSE 8.0
list, After edit both /etc/inetd.conf and /etc/services to enable SWAT, to launch SWAT via my browser as "http://localhost:901/" was refused when attempting to contact ?? Any suggestions ?

You shouldn't have to edit services just to enable swat. Did you restart or kill -HUP inetd after you edited inetd.conf? //Anders
I've just come across a similar problem with getting swat to work. I un commented the lines in inetd.conf with regards to swat, as it said to do in the Samba instructions. Once I'd rebooted I tried to bring the page up using localhost:901 and got the message that the connection was refused. I had to use 127.0.0.1 instead of the hostname. Also Konqueror seems, as a default setting, to put www. in front of all web addresses. Go to file and select open web page (I think) this will let you type in the 127.0.0.1:901 without problems.
