I just installed SuSE 8.2. This is my third installation, two of which were Personal and one of which was Professional. In all the time I have installed SuSE, I never used disk 3. What is on disk 3? Thanks -- Dennis Tuchler <dtuchler@earthlink.net>

I'm not entirely sure either [translation: I haven't looked] however in my case, I've used disks 1-4 in my particular installation [and in fact, when I went to install some additional things, I was prompted for disks in this order: 1, 2, 3, 2, 4 -- yes, disk 2 was repeated!] I *believe* each of the disks has an index file on it that describes the actual content, but if not, mount the disk itself and navigate down a few levels [the path should be fairly obvious] and you'll find a directory full of .rpm's. Finally, during the installation via YAST, click on one of the "details" tabs -- this will show [among other things] the "media location" where the installation files are located. - -- Yet another Blog: http://osnut.homelinux.net -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2-rc1-SuSE (GNU/Linux) Comment: http://osnut.homelinux.net/TomEmerson.asc iD8DBQE+suWFV/YHUqq2SwsRAtEWAJ901b6vjhJdDhWZU4+GgdyD1vZw4wCfa9bt SOzJey4670osx2lHXbwHwsE= =dZM0 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Heh...put it in your CD-ROM and mount it and look. (This isn't meant to sound nasty-sarcastic, just a plain ol', easygoin' suggestion). I got to get a DVD-ROM and didn't have to piddle with the CD's this time. John - -- A butterfly is: Pretty,soft,harmless...and useless, just like M$N.
