[opensuse] Filing bugs at https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/index.cgi
I recently posted to the list about a problem with the latest update to icinga2 package on openSuSE Leap 15.2. With no luck so far, I decided to open a bug. I installed the source RPM to find the location to post bugs. in the SPEC file, it mentions "Please submit bugfixes or comments via https://bugs.opensuse.org/". I assume this means I can also go to this site to file bug reports. There is no clear indication of where to go to file bugs. Once I go to https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/index.cgi, I can find no hints as how to file a new bug. There are multiple "new" options on the site (new test case, new bug etc.) but no matter which "new" I go to, I can only get as far as choosing the product, after which I have no idea what to do. The system seems stuck on trying to search for "Test plans" etc. Am I at the wrong place to report a bug? Thank you in advance for your help, --Moby -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

bugs.opensuse.org for that package is an apparent typo.

Thank you Felix. The bug is most likely in a package artifact as opposed to the base product (icinga2). The package is installed from obs://build.opensuse.org/server:monitoring (that is what zypper info for the package shows for vendor). Where should one open bugs for it? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

That is more complicated. <https://software.opensuse.org/package/icinga2> shows the OBS link as <https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/server%3Amonitoring/icinga2> There is a link there which says "report bug", which directly opens Bugzilla with the appropriate fields already filled. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. Thank you Carlos. That link started out looking very useful, and it did indeed open a form with many fields filled in. I verified it showed me as logged in, and filled in data to report the bug. Whenever I click on "Submit bug", the submission fails with a message saying " Bugzilla was unable to make any match at all for one or more of the names and/or email addresses you entered on the previous page. Please go back and try other names or email addresses. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ CC: *lrupp@suse.com* did not match anything " I noticed the package released an update today. However, the bug still exists and I still cannot get a bug opened. Oh :-(
CC: *lrupp@suse.com* did not match anything
You can only delete it. It means that this person is no longer at suse, or he changed address, and the people at the OBS page did not update the information.
I noticed the package released an update today. However, the bug still exists and I still cannot get a bug opened.
Just remove the emails that do not work. Problem is, the people that own that OBS project will not be notified. An alternative is to put product as "other", and let the team do the classification when they can. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.1 x86_64 at Telcontar)

Thanks. I was able to get a bug opened (finally, whoo hoo!) by creating a new bug at https://bugzilla.opensuse.org and filling in all the fields by hand. They produce the same page. <bugs.opensuse.org> redirects to <https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Submitting_bug_reports>, so it is indeed the correct link. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.1 x86_64 at Telcontar)

No, <https://bugs.opensuse.org/> is the site that explains how and where to fill bugs. The instructions are very detailed.

The link above gives you the generic link to report a bug for your distribution - So you click here: [Open bugs for Leap 15.2] --> which prints a long list of existing bugs. Just click "new" at the top. Just "new". The product is "openSUSE Distribution: openSUSE Leap & Stable releases", then choose a component. I don't know what icinga2 is, so perhaps I would select "other". That is it. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.1 x86_64 at Telcontar)
