For some reason I don't understand, the keypad doesn't work for me in 9.3. Not a mechanical problem as it works in win2k and mempis 3.3. It's not a numlock problem either, or so I'm lead to believe, as cycling the numlock key makes no difference. Don't find any help with google, so I thought I'd inquire if anyone else has had this same problem. dave -- David C. Do you have this problem since the installation, or has it appeared suddenly later ?

I do have a problem too with my keyboard (the numeric keypad work, but not some specific keys of the Belgium layout as it should). I haven't found the cause (and solution) yet. Maybe our keyboard problems are related ? (a bug in the Suse/xfree86/xorg installation ?) Can you try the following command from a console: setxkbmap -v 10 What are the results ? Do you have a "Error loading new keyboard description" error message ? AmigaPhil, world citizen. /No MS-HTML mail please/ PGP key: 0x9C07F6C1

In all honesty I don't recall when it started.

Nothing special. It allows you to load a different keymap (overide the default configured settings) at runtime. (Try "man setxkbmap" for more) But with this option ( -v = verbose, 10 = highest output level ), it does not change anything but load the keymap as configured in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file (I think). Strange... Does it still work after a reboot ?

Glad to see the problem seems solved for you. But I don't think I'm for something here (or it's just by chance.) Well, no, and yes. No, after rebooting last evening it didn't work at all, no matter what I tried. That included running setxkbmap -v 10 several times, both with the ss open and closed. Tonight I open the ss and it worked just fine. One difference between the two sessions, last night and tonight. Last night I opened a new blank ss and it didn't work. Tonight I opened an existing ss and it worked fine. Then I tried it on a new blank ss and again it worked fine. Tomorrow I'll try a new blank ss first to see if that makes a difference.

Well, I have no idea atm as to how I could further (try to) help you. Have an eye on the other thread ("9.3: Keyboard keymaps and xorg"), you find find something of use in there. Hi all, All the machines I have available to do testing only have CD-ROM's on them. With 9.2 I was able to do an NFS install. With 9.3 I've downloaded the Live CD and tried to do the same NFS install but it won't work (can't find image file). So is 9.3 available on CD? Cheers Todd

If you're trying to install over the internet, I don't think 9.3 has been released yet. I know the NFS install works, as I used it a couple of days ago, but I have an install server on my computer.

Hi all,
Please begin a new thread and restate your query. You have replied to the list from an existing message and changed the subject destroying the threading for those email clients which have that capability. If you are unaware of the term 'threading', a quick search on google should provide an explanation.
