I can't believe I've spent 3 days in Gnome. Not that I didn't ever reallt "dislike" Gnome, I just couldn't get it to work the way I wanted. But the present state of Gnome in SUSE 9.0 is not bad at all IMHO. I especially like the look of the default SUSE theme. Nice, simple, clean and generally pleasant to the eye. The inclusion of gsu ( gnomesu ) is another nice addition as well. One of the things that bugged me previously was the pain it was to set it up because the manner in which access of the users versus admin interface were in earlier SUSE Gnome versions. It is much more user friendly IMHO. Danke, zehr! Curtis.

That's always been there - I've been a Gnome user since I started using SuSE (7.3) and I've always had gnomesu available IIRC. Certainly, it's in 8.2 because that's what I'm using now :-) I totally agree that it's a very useful little thing, though. It's especially nice that you can set buttons up to launch gnomesu with the app name already filled in, so that you just have to enter the root password, as well as having the generic "enter command and password" approach.
