I tested it before I sent it, and it worked on 12.3 using a Laserjet 1606. I suspect it might be something in your hplip settings or such, not knowing how to print in landscape on that particular device. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

With these things I often used "print to poscript" from acroread. Then I would visualize the generated postscript in gv (for instance) and then print it or not. Acroread tries to be clever, cups tries to be clever, hplip tries to be clever... not everything works right in team. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 12.3 x86_64 "Dartmouth" at Telcontar)

There were hplip updates just yesterday. On my machine hpcups.ppd is found found in /usr/share/cups/model/ in a couple different subdirectories. But, yes, hplip's support of HP's own printers can be good for one printer model and bad for another. Its usually especially bad for printers not connected through the network (e.g. usb printers plugged into another machine). -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

my system does not, but it may relate to the particular printer(s) you have installed. I *only* have a networked printer on a local ip address and my wife's epson attached directly to her win box. I can print remotely to it, but ....

very much so

On my hp printer I have three drivers: Series Postscript (recommended) hpijs pcl3 pcl3, hpcups All three are active in cups, and when the default one fails, I use another. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 12.3 x86_64 "Dartmouth" at Telcontar)

Here what is weird, I was running 12.2 just fine - thought I could go 12.3 - Quasar required a downgrade of about 217 packages - re-installed 12.2 - applied all updates - kwin would crash everytime - re-installed 2 more times - each time kwin qould crash (didn't even get to downgrade for quasar (only 4 packages)) ??????? So went back to 12.1 - all is fine. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
