I installed Evolution via a Suse 8.1 rpm, and when I try to launch, I get an error window stating "cannot initialize the Ximian Evolution shell: Configuration Database not found." Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated. I do NOT want the Red Carpet system to take over though. Harry G

Gosh, 8.1? That's gonna be a really old version of Evolution... Ummm, I think this used to be caused, by it not being able to load the appropriate Mozilla libraries. Try adding /opt/mozilla to /etc/ld.so.conf and running ldconfig and then starting Evolution again. -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 9.0) GNOME updates for SuSE: http://www.usr-local-bin.org

That may need to be /opt/mozilla/lib actually, it's a very long time since I used 8.1... -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 9.0) GNOME updates for SuSE: http://www.usr-local-bin.org
