I attempted to upgrade everything that needed upgrading using Synaptic last night. When I checked it this morning, there were a lot of conflicts listed so I canceled the upgrade. Now, when I logged out of KDE and logged back in, my KDE launch menu's were all screwed up and all of the applications I opened would have no words for any of the menus (they would either be blank or just have a line where the word should be. This has happened to me before and the fix involved something like, from a shell as root delete the .kde file/directory from your /home/thinker/ directory". Is this the correct procedure to have KDE rebuild? Also, how can I tell what version of KDE is running? Of course I only want to run the latest stable version. Thanks in advance ... -=Thinker
