Is there anywhere where we can suggest solutions and apps/drivers that are missing?
Yes: send them to feedback@suse.de - one suggestion / wish per message, if possible. Our feedback team will gather these comments and forward them to the developers.
I'd personally like to see the following in 7.1:-
- Official Intel EtherExpress drivers (at least as an option)
Just to make sure: where can we find them? Aren't they included in the official kernel anyway?
- Better UDMA/ATA documentation (does it support ATA100 for example???)
Yes, it does, at least that is what Andre Hedrick told us :)
- More stickers :)

"Lapel pin". Use a small gas torch to heat the end of the pin and press it into the front-panel of a SuSE Linux box. They'll do the job until SuSE provide the holographic Tux/Geeko badges to replace the square badges on the generic PC cases. -- /"\ Bernd Felsche - Innovative Reckoning, Perth, Western Australia \ / ASCII ribbon campaign | I'm a .signature virus! | X against HTML mail | Copy me into your ~/.signature| / \ and postings | to help me spread! |

Now that would be a nice touch:)) -- Stu "The specification said Windows 95 or better, so I installed Linux"

Ran accross this one onve befor but forget how to deal with it. Im running neomail as a test app and it requires a different permission set on Perl than what is installed by default by Yast. The install Neomail install script easily makes the changes but every night around midnight Yast resets the permmission.
So the general question is, how do you turn this behaviour off for selected files.
adapt the /etc/permissions.local and tell thru yast what your security options easy, paranoid and make sure you have the local included there so your neomail permissions will not be touched. <p> -- Togan Muftuoglu toganm@turk.net 100% MS FREE Absolutely no component of Microsoft was used in the generation or posting of this e-mail. So it is virus free

I'm using square badge with Tux from linuxcentral.com on my ``generic PC case'' for 1+ year. -Kastus

Upon reflection, I suppose this would have made more sense than going at the front of my case with a torch! Oh well, I've wanted a full tower anyway. BTW, the Reiserfs may bounce back from power outages OK, but it's not worth a darn after a fire....... ;-) If only SuSE would provide bumper stickers. Pretty hard to get into trouble with them.....providing the vehicle is not moving, of course.....but that's a different story. -- TRBishop tb64710@ltec.net RLU # 12043 SuSE 7.0 Pro KDE2

Bumper stickers saying something like "If you knew SuSE, like I know SuSE..." Or a simple graphic showing Tux holding Geeko on a leash? Geeko perhaps taking a bite out of Windows logo? If you only ever have 2-cent ideas, you'd better have loads of ideas to make a living. I speak from experience. :-) -- /"\ Bernd Felsche - Innovative Reckoning, Perth, Western Australia \ / ASCII ribbon campaign | I'm a .signature virus! | X against HTML mail | Copy me into your ~/.signature| / \ and postings | to help me spread! |
