[opensuse] Tomboy Notes without all of the Gnome Dependancies
It's really a shame because the one application I miss from GNOME, and what I run on Windows XP is Tomboy Notes. I know not everyone is a fan, but it is a very convenient tool and once you get the hang of it and it works well. No saving, convenient wiki style linking, and a nice sync function. When I look to install it on my KDE installation (that has GIMP, OOo, and Firefox), it wants to pull in a great deal of GNOME dependencies, almost the whole desktop! Nautilus, gnome-menu, gnome-icons, even the YaST Gnome Control Center. Is there any way to use Tomboy without installing all of these additional GNOME packages? I mean really, 45MB of downloads for just Tomboy? Regards, Anthony Simonelli -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Have you considered "gnote"? Gnote is a desktop note-taking application which is simple and easy to use. It lets you organize your notes intelligently by allowing you to easily link ideas together with Wiki style interconnects. It is a port of Tomboy to C++ and consumes fewer resources. I don't know if it would pull in less gnome dependencies...but it is worth a try. I'm also not sure if it is in the normal repositories for opensuse. My experience is from Fedora... :-) Ed -- I'm totally DESPONDENT over the LIBYAN situation and the price of CHICKEN ... -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
