[SLE] Cannot Install XCDRoast or KOnCD
Since I did a minimum install, it did not install KDE 2.0, so I don't
Ok, I'm about 1/2 thru to save the data I need, but here is my present situation. 1. I found a program w/the minimum install called KonCD, that is suppost to burn cdroms. I tried it and got the ISO0999 error, I don't remember the output, but I can post it tomorrow. Either way I couldn't get it to work. 2. I logged in as SU, and using YAST tried to install XCDRoast. YAST went thru its process and I was not able to run it. I tried typing in XCDRoast from a terminal and nothing. Not sure what I am doing wrong, but any help will be great, cause this will help me put an end to this nightmare. thanks to all, -Chris Miller ------Original Message------ From: Joost van der Lugt <jvdl@sirius.com> To: CM Miller <cmmiller73@juno.com> Sent: June 2, 2001 11:23:35 PM GMT Subject: Re: [SLE] The Search for XCDRoast * CM Miller <cmmiller73@juno.com> [Jun 02. 2001 15:24]: think
there is a way for me to search for XCDRoast. Or is there?
1. open a terminal, type `sux` whereafter `yast2`, go on from there. 2. in console ar terminal type `su` or `sux` and type `yast`, and dig a little through the package install features (resorting to all packages for instance).

Ok, I tried to -fdsk /dev/hdc7 to fix my Linux, but that didn't work, so
just uninstalled and reinstalled. I did a minimum install and it works just fine. I can see my Windows C: drive where I want to rescue the data. The only problem is that Linux acts like it won't mount my CD Burner drive and my CDROM drive. I right click, and click mount, and I come back with an error. But, if I left click on the drive, then it works?
Also, I don't think XRoast loaded on my machine, how do I load that from YAST? I will do some reading up on the manuals this weekend, but anymore help will be great. I'm sure I'm gonna get this.
I use Yast2 in KDE2's KControl. Go to Software, and then follow the
I prompts.
Just run a search for "xcdroast" and see if you can find it. Then install it. It should install any software that isn't already installed that it needs.
Also, my e-mail response time will be a bit slower, cause my other
Windows
machine went into DLL hell and I can't access any of the icons on the desktop.
When will my computer troubles end?
When you ultimately just give up on Windows, and go 100% linux. I had many many problems, until I decided to stop playing around and make a decision. My decision was Linux, and I have yet to regret it.
thanks,

I know you probably have done this, but: a) Did you switch to root using sux? b) did you type it exactly like this: xcdroast Matt
