Hi, I am running OpenSuSE 15.3 and 15.4 with the KDE/Plasma desktop. My eyes are not as good as they once were, and one of the things that bugs me a lot is the I bar cursor (also called the I beam cursor I think) Is there any way to get rid of it and substitute the regular arrow cursor for it? I don't see the I cursor very well and am constantly losing track of it, requiring lots of mouse movements before I find it again. Marc...

In the Settings > Appearance > Cursors there are a few different styles to choose from. Maybe one of those might help.

Thanks James, yeah that is where I first went to, but most of the choices have the I bar cursor as part of their set of cursor shapes. I have been downloading and installing other cursor packages but so far no joy in finding one without or with a good substitute/alternate for the I bar cursor. The best one I have found, so far, is a package with large red cursors and the I bar cursor is not so easily lost. I would like to just get rid of the I bar cursor and use the regular arrow cursor instead. I also don't like the underline cursor, but at least I can make it blink, which helps.

There are some others that can be installed with Yast. Also, that bar cursor is used when in a text box, such as with email or word processor, where it better shows the position than an arrow cursor.

Yes but it only better shows the position if you can see it! You can adapt to any cursor shape as long as you can see it :)

I totally agree with the OP, I don't know how many people have raised this issue over the years. The current state is a bit of an improvenet but in the Oxygen set for example the I-bean is still the smallest of the bunch so that if you increase enough to make it visible then the arrow becomes the size of a school bus. In addition I would opt for a flashing I-beam as well as those mouse-trails we once had!
