[Fwd: Re: [opensuse] Sound under VMWare (solved) (messed up again!)]
Ysgrifennodd Carlos E. R.:
I think this is what you should figure out first. Just start one of the mixer utilities and play with the settings till the microphone is heard. Unless the host system sees the microphone, the guest will not.
It never rains but it pours. For some reason the mic has stopped working again (in openSUSE). If I go to KMix (Input tab) and illuminate the "LED" under the microphone, then open Audacity, the green LED under the mic goes off and Audacity hears nothing. If I then illuminate the LED with Audacity open and try to record again, I get this error: "Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate." Any ideas? I'm completely lost. Cheers Peter -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Apologies for replying to myself, but forget it guys. It's started working again. I don't know why. Bad day. Really bad day. :( Peter -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Don't worry. Sometimes things work just after I write for help :-) Either Murphy, or that writing them up clears the mind and we see. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
