Hello all! I installed Win4Lin 3.0 and it went really well, but when installing Windows 98 SE the process goes to a halt when trying to write the packages to the harddisk, and gives me this message: _Unable to create directorys or files_ Does someone have any experience with this? Thank's in advance for your help. Cheers, ei -- @~~~ EagleIce ~~~~ eagleice@telia.com ~~~@ @~~~~ Running SuSE Linux 7.1 at home ~~~~@ @~~~~ Caldera OL eDesktop 2.4 at work ~~~@
You should ask on NeTraverse's reflector. They are working hard right now and answering questions like this very quickly. Cheers, ei I have had a grim time trying to install win4lin 3.0
Firstly I wanted to evaluate but couldn't find a link, so $80 ain't so much I bought a licence, and downloaded the install routine. This let me know my kernel wasn't compatible, mine is 2.4.2 and I thought 2.4.x was, anyway I downloaded the patch, which didn't quite go as expected, but eventually I compilled, installed, & re-booted. Finally I am ready to download the actual software & it now seems thier server is down. Woe is me. Am I unlucky? I always seem to have problems when I buy software! I should know better! Phil
Hello I don't think I can really help on this problem, but I've run into the same problem while win4lin installation tries to create a boot floppy for a Win95. Are you very sure that your Win98 CD is bootable as I didn't have this kind of problem with bootable 98 CD. --Jyry C:-( C:-/ C========8-O C8-/ C:-( On Sun, 3 Jun 2001, Philip Burness wrote:
