USB flash drive causes SuSE to hang
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, As per my subject, my 512 meg flash drive makes my system hang after about 30 seconds to a minute of being plugged in. Any ideas? The very same flash drive works fine on my Ubuntu laptop. - -- Raoul Snyman Saturn Laboratories Web: http://www.saturnlaboratories.co.za/ E-mail: raoul.snyman@saturnlaboratories.co.za Blog: http://blog.saturnlaboratories.co.za/ Linux User #333298 (http://counter.li.org/) - -----BEGIN GEEK CODE BLOCK----- Version: 3.1 GCS/IT/MU d-(+) s(+):-(--) a- C++$ ULC(++++)>$ P+ L++(+++)>$ !E !W++@>$ N(+) !o K--? w(---)$ !O !M(+) !V !PS? !PE !Y PGP+(++)@ t+>$ 5+(++)>$ !X(-) !R tv--? b+@ DI(+) !D+ !G e++ h+() r y- - ------END GEEK CODE BLOCK------ -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFCHmGrdabIu5z4rwwRAgjDAJ9pHLnukXuBslyknblQw3pZN3MmVwCgrD6V jRIN7IHLN6Zu2wmsU9oIE34= =7NoA -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

I have a similar problem with my iPod, although I haven't tried other flavours of Linux. I tend to get a lockup while writing to the iPod. The problem is the save with both USB2 and Firewire. Raoul, It is really hard for anyone to start helping. At least add your SuSE version, kernel version, dmesg output, parts of the log files, etc. You may take a look here as well for more clues what to include: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html Cheers Sunny -- Get Firefox http://www.spreadfirefox.com/?q=affiliates&id=10745&t=85
