How do I know it does not get recognized??? I have other systems with nvidia and the XF86config files has the correct boardname.

Ok, as rroman suggested, go to nvidia.com and download the installer from them and try it. If it can not build/find the kernel module, install kernel-sources for your kernel and try again. After the driver is installed, run sax2 and configure it. On nvidia site there are instructions for suse users. Such an instructions you can find on suse site as well. And as I said, there was recent post in this list. Search the archives and read it. Sunny -- Get Firefox http://www.spreadfirefox.com/?q=affiliates&id=10745&t=85
Ran NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-6629-pkg2.run, I get the Nvidia logo before X starts but the box crashes when glxinfo or glxgears are run.
