[opensuse] lxde: no titlebars or window borders
I added the following to a minimal X 13.1 installation: lxappearance-0.5.2-6.1.3.i586 lxde-common-0.5.5-40.1.3.noarch lxde-common-branding-upstream-0.5.5-40.1.3.noarch lxdm-0.4.1-25.1.3.i586 lxinput-0.3.2-6.1.3.i586 lxlauncher-0.2.2-26.1.4.i586 lxmenu-data-0.1.2-13.1.2.noarch lxpanel-0.5.12-2.1.3.i586 lxsession-0.4.9.3.git20130914-2.1.4.i586 lxshortcut-0.1.2-22.1.2.i586 lxtask-0.1.4-16.1.4.i586 lxterminal-0.1.11-20.1.4.i586 patterns-openSUSE-lxde-13.1-13.6.1.i586 What's missing to cause $SUBJECT? Shouldn't $SUBJECT be included in lxappearance? Google can't seem to find me anything about lxde unrelated to Gnome or Compiz. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." Do you have a window manager? openbox is the usual choice though there are others. HTH. Ralph -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Until I found http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LXDE I didn't know any "DE"s didn't have their own window manager. I've rarely used anything except KDE# or whatever it is that openSUSE puts into a minimal X. Installing openbox and obconf solved the problem. Is it possible to have openbox or lxde remember whatever was running at log out and start them back up automatically on login? -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
