Hi, Roy :)
BootMagic should see Linux partition ok . . . partition magic makes ext2 formats ok But as BootMagic lives on the first drive it does not seem to see a non-dos second drive. Perhaps it would have, had I installed the Linux versions in the MBR i.s.o. /boot partitions!
if you wanna get rid of dos part. , then, just use linux <cfdisk> to make it into a linux part. and then use
Was unaware of the existence of this cfdisk utility, thanks for mentioning it.
LILO does the job fine ~ yes use MBR The thought of re-installing two distros of Linux all over again puts me off ! Could I avoid a re-install to achieve getting both in the MBR ?
{ i use the same /boot partition for 2 versions of SuSE, Storm Linux, and, Mandrake.} My boot partitions are separate: /dev/hdc3 Caldera, /dev/hdc5 SuSE - would have to meditate a lot about how to change the lilo.conf files!
Have been using FreeBSD, RedHat, Corel, SuSE linux/unix distros over the years, skipped through a pile of books, but realize there is still a lot to learn about Linux ! However as a reward for this its lots of fun I guess.
