[opensuse] 11.0 Opera Java Links Broken ??
List, After Anders posted the links to the opera generic rpm, I thought I would give it a try. To my AMAZEMENT Java/Javascript worked like a charm in the opera.com package, but was broken completely in the openSuSE update package. The opera.com package was: opera-10.00.gcc4.qt4.x86_64.rpm The openSuSE Update package was: opera-10.00-6.1.x86_64.rpm Investigating further, I checked the java settings in the opera.com package and the java path for Tools -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Content -> Java Options was: /usr/lib64/jvm/java-1.6.0-sun-1.6.0/jre/lib/amd64 Curious, I reinstalled the openSuSE package and check the same Java Option and it was the SAME!! What Gives?? Why does java in the opera.com package work and the opensuse package fail?? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. Wait, java and javascript have _nothing_ in common!

Hard to tell without analyzing the issue .. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

i've never experienced broken javascript in opera. for some time, since ver. 10 was released but not available on oS, i've been using rpms from opera, though. today i switched to the Qt4 version (from opera again), and, as you say, it works great. loads quite a bit faster than Qt3, which i have been using earlier. which repos are you using to install opera 10 from openSUSE? i see that 11.1 non-oss still contains opera 9.62, while all the 11.2 repos i have enabled use 10.00-7.1, not 10.00-6.1, which you mention.

as i said, i've never seen it fail. probably i wasn't using 10.00-6.1 from oS repos at any time... -- phani. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
