[SuSE Linux] SB AWE64
Hi How do I get the above sound card to work with SuSE linux...I don't think it can be compiled into the kernel. There is a conf. file called something like isapnp.conf. Does anybody know? Thanks - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
Compile a kernel with support for your card then, pnpdump > /etc/isapnp.conf then uncomment the appropriate values in /etc/isapnp.conf and run; /sbin/isapnp /etc/isapnp.conf That's all there is to it Mark wrote:

I noticed in S.u.S.E 5.2 that this is done automatically for you in "/etc/rc.d/boot" which gets executed when the system is first starting up. All that needs to be in place is an "/etc/isapnp.conf" file and the executable, "/sbin/isapnp" needs to be accessible.

Have a look at the Soundblaster AWE mini-HOWTO, which you should have a copy of on disk with the S.u.S.E. distribution. Follow the instructions exactly as written and you'll be up and running. It worked for me. Phil -- Philip Stokes <phil@stokes.demon.co.uk> - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
