Will next release of SuSE support Serial ATA?
I will soon lay may hands on ASUS PG48X Deluxe motherboard, which has support for Serial ATA using the Silicon Image SiI3112A controller. As far as I know, this chip has Linux support, but it's still fairly new, so it may not yet be supported in SuSE. A search in SuSE hardware database turned up nothing. Googling around, I found some encouraging links, but still, anyone knows? Patches for Serial ATA : http://www.linux-ide.org Support for Serial ATA in 2.5.35 (low level driver for sis sata controller) : http://kernelnewbies.org/status/latest.html A patch : patches.common/ide_siimage_cleanup-21pre5. Relevant for SiI3112A? ftp://ftp.sunet.se/pub/Linux/distributions/suse/people/mantel/next/kernel-source.changes Cheers, Sigfred Haversen.
