RE: [SLE] KDE 2.2.2: anyone else with bugs in packages from SuSE
Thank you for the quick response. However, I am still having problems. I added the session kde3 but when I login to kde3, it starts up and gets as far as the "welcome to kde3" screen and saying that is is loading the desktop when it suddenly goes back to the login menu. I looked in /opt/kde3/bin/startkde and that is already set to $HOME/.kde3 any ideas ? Thank You

Hello, Maybe this has been asked and answered, but now that I have downloaded KDE3, from the SuSE ftp site, how do I get it to work ? Thank You
If you're using kdm, add a session "kde3" to it. If you're starting X from the command line, do 'export WINDOWMANAGER=/usr/X11R6/bin/kde3' before doing startx
Note that suse's rpms by default use $HOME/.kde3-testing as $KDEHOME. You may want to edit /opt/kde3/bin/startkde and change that to $HOME/.kde3, as I suspect that is where future betas will have it.
