[SLE] Compiling gIDE with SuSE 6.4
Hello Yesterday I downloaded gIDE and began to compile it only to find that I needed libglade.rpm. I've downloaded that and installed it. When I do "./configure" with gide-0.3.0 I get the following..... "checking for gnome-config.... no checking for gnomeConf.sh file in usr/local/lib..... not found configure: error: Could not find the gnomeConf.sh file that is generated by gnome-libs install" did whereis glade and it came back with... /usr/bin/glade /usr/share/glade. I've also found /opt/gnome/lib/libgladeConf.sh I think that what I need to do is to create a link between libgldeConf.sh and something else ?? Can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong and how to correct it ? I've tried the Gnome list and all they know about is Red Hat. Dear All Thanks for your help so far...... Charles Philip Chan wrote:

Works but now I've got another error message which says... "configure: error: Could not find the gnomeConf.sh file that is generated by gnome-libs install" I've definitely got a working Gnome installation. I've done "whereis gnomeConf.sh" and it's not on the machine as far as I can see. Is this another rpm that I need to install or can I tell ./configure to ignore this as well ? This works well. However what I'm getting now is "checking for Glade libraries >= 0.11... configure: error: Did not find libGlade installed" I've done "whereis libGlade". It's not on my machine and that's after I've installed the libGlade.rpm from the Gnome site. Didn't get any errors with installation of that. Does anyone know if there is something like a libGlade.tar.gz file somewhere ? Perhaps I can get there from a source file ? However what I'm getting now is "checking for > Glade libraries >= 0.11... configure: error: Did not find > libGlade installed" The ones in the stable branch of Gnome is up to date, you can get the RPM's for x86 at: ftp://ftp.rpmfind.net/linux/gnome.org/stable/suse/i386/libglade/ If you prefer to compile it yourself or if you use another architecture, first get the source RPM's from: ftp://ftp.rpmfind.net/linux/gnome.org/stable/suse/SRPMS/libglade/ You should then install it. Now goto: /usr/src/packages/SPECS You should then do a: rpm -bb foobar.spec Where foobar is the name of the SPEC file. The resulting RPM's after compilation will be in /usr/src/packages/RPMS/Your_ARCHITECHTURE Where you ARCHITECHTURE is your CPU type. As to Glade you can find the stable RPM and SRPM at: ftp://ftp.rpmfind.net/linux/gnome.org/stable/suse/i386/glade/ and ftp://ftp.rpmfind.net/linux/gnome.org/stable/suse/SRPMS/glade/ respectively. For the cutting-edge, unstable version, you can find the source tarball at: ftp://ftp.rpmfind.net/linux/gnome.org/unstable/sources/gIDE/ Charles -- ===================================================== One Net to rule them all, One Net to find them, One Net to bring them all, and with Linux bind them. ===================================================== -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
