[opensuse] email client question
Hello: I am searching for an email client in which I can do this: answer a message and attach to this answer other emails from other folders (not files from the computer). I am familiar with roundcube webmail client and alpine text based client, but these cannot do the above. Thank you in advance for suggfestons. Istvan ps: I prefer to stick to this mailing list. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I wonder if the op want to attach more than one mail, that's not forward a single mail. If so, I don't see how it can be done and on what form the mail(s) can be copied (content, headers...) jdd -- http://dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

KMail can do it as well. Just drag a mail from the message list and drop it onto the newly composed mail, it will be added as an attachment. Can be done for multiple messages. /Andreas -- Time flies like an arrow. LOL. I was going to do that ;-) One way is selecting the emails, then message/forward as attachment. The other way that Simon has described I was not familiar, and is more correct. The trick is opening the attachment area, because in my th it is closed till there is at least one. I have to click and drag and drop a message to a tiny inverted triangle at the right end of the "From" header panel. Clicking on the triangle opens the "From" selector. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. I've noticed an annoying bug with that behaviour of late in Leap 42.3, probably Plasma desktop that's the culprit so I'm hoping it's fixed in os 15. As is commonly the case on my desktop the TB Compose window gets grouped on my panel since I have several things open, and when dragging the attachment from whatever program and hovering over the taskbar entry, the group expands but the compose window no longer opens and comes to the fore, instead remaining as a red 'no entry' cursor. This used to work until not so long ago. So I have to use the 'traditional' method of Attach -> Browse to directory. gumb -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

patience grasshopper. While dragging, and hovering on taskbar, all the Tbird windows will show up as stacked tabs (for lack of better description) attached to the task bar. Hover longer on the one you want (still dragging of course) and it will pop open. Takes a couple extra seconds on my old beater. I have no idea where this hover delay is set or controlled. -- After all is said and done, more is said than done. file:///home/jsa/plot8.svg -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

No it doesn't. Not any more. Never mind grasshoppers, I can promise you, I've hovered like a dragonfly for twenty seconds, just in case it changes its mind. This is what used to happen, but on my install at least, whilst I get the initial group pop-up from the taskbar entry, I cannot get the chosen window within that group to open. I just gave it another try, but this time I changed from my preferred Manual Grouping to Do Not Sort. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. No change anyway. So I unticked 'Open Groups In Popups'. Hmm, maybe I prefer that, even though that doesn't behave at all as I expected. gumb -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Whelp, small consolation, I know, but: Works here on Leap 15, KDE Plasma Version 5.12.5 KDE Frameworks Version 5.45.0 Also checked on Manjaro which has KDE Frameworks Version 5.46.0 and yee olde hover trick works there too. I skipped right over 42.3, so I've never seen this in a broken state. -- After all is said and done, more is said than done. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Thank you all for your suggestions. Indeed, I can drag and drop emails to the attachment area of an email in seamonkey. I am more familiar with seamonkey than with thunderbird but practically they are almost the same.
