I've been using k3b for quite a while now, but noticed yesterday that I could not burn CDs anymore. The debug output appears to be a kernel/SCSI issue. I updated my kernel to the most recent version, and still get the same error. I've got 2 Sony IDE drives on the machine (burner and DVD). Kernel version in my sig. Known issue with kernels >= 2.6.8. To make a long answer short, use kdesu k3b instead and burn as root until the issues are resolved. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Registered Linux user 231871

OK, I'll do that. I knew of some of the issues with k3b and the 2.6.8 kernel, but a couple of weeks ago, the issues were resolved for me and I was burning fine with my normal user account and the 2.6.8 kernel. It was only recently that it started 'acting up' again. -- Cheers, Trey --- The most costly of all follies is to believe passionately in the palpably not true.
