[opensuse] sound stopped working opensuse 11.2
Folks, After a routine software update a couple of weeks ago, sound decided to stop working on my openSuSE 11.2 x86_64 machine. If I delete the sound card configuration, and reconfigure it works fine, but after the next reboot, I must repeast the process again. sound card is CK804 AC'97 Audio Controller driver is snd-intel8x0 Anyone else having a similar problem? And suggested quick fixes for this? Thanks, Vahe -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I had a similar issue. The problem in my case was related to insufficient user rights to access the sound card. Try first as root to see if you have sound.
