[SuSE Linux] Netscape4.5 vs.Netscape4.51
Hi, The Netscape 4.5 which comes with suse6 has been working fine for me. Just out of curiosity I downloaded 4.51 and put it in a separate directory. I did ldd's on both versions. For 4.5(coming with suse6): zentara@zentara:~ > ldd /opt/netscape/netscape libBrokenLocale.so.1 => /lib/libBrokenLocale.so.1 (0x40007000) libXt.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.so.6 (0x4000a000) libSM.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libSM.so.6 (0x40052000) libICE.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libICE.so.6 (0x4005b000) libXmu.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXmu.so.6 (0x40070000) libXpm.so.4 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXpm.so.4 (0x40082000) libXext.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6 (0x40093000) libX11.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6 (0x4009f000) libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x40144000) libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x40148000) libg++.so.2.7.2 => /usr/lib/libg++.so.2.7.2 (0x401f5000) libstdc++.so.2.7.2 => /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.2.7.2 (0x4022e000) libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0x40270000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x2aaaa000) For version 4.51 (downloaded): zentara@zentara:~ > ldd /opt/netscape451/netscape libXt.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.so.6 (0x40007000) libSM.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libSM.so.6 (0x4004f000) libICE.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libICE.so.6 (0x40058000) libXmu.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXmu.so.6 (0x4006d000) libXpm.so.4 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXpm.so.4 (0x4007f000) libXext.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6 (0x4008e000) libX11.so.6 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so.6 (0x4009c000) libdl.so.1 => /lib/libdl.so.1 (0x40141000) libc.so.5 => not found libg++.so.27 => not found libstdc++.so.27 => not found libm.so.5 => not found libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x40144000) /lib/ld-linux.so.1 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x2aaaa000) Notice the "not found" for libc5 under 4.51? What will this mean for it's realiability under suse6? -- To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>
I just upgraded to SUSE 6.0, and now my mouse is not working in X on my user account. It works fine under root, and works in GPM under the user account. I presume that there's a simple setting out-of-whack, but I couldn't find one. Any thoughts? Thanks!
