Compaq Proliant ML310 Server (No Hard Disks Found)
Dear users, When installing SuSE Enterprise Server 8 on a Compaq Proliant ML310 server, we get a error "Hard disk not found" I assume its because a Smart Array Driver is required. Please may you advise where I can download the Compaq Smart Array 641 boot-time loadable device driver? Do I press ALT then insert the floppy disk during the install process? I have created a driver disk using rawwrite, press ALT at installation, insert disk, but SuSE just does nothing... Does not detect any controller. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks Fareed

What process did you follow? I unsubscribed and resubscribed yesterday to change my email address and it worked perfectly. I just followed the instructions and it worked. -- Andre Truter | Software Engineer | Registered Linux user #185282 ICQ #40935899 | AIM: trusoftzaf | http://www.trusoft.co.za ~ "Oh Bother!" said the Borg, "We assimilated the Pooh!" ~ Disclaimer and Confidentiality Warning This message is intended for the addressee only. Every "bullshit" you get from this list has a header in it - "list-unsubscribe:". In your mailer, click on whatever you have to do to "view all headers". Copy the contents of that header into the "To:" line of a new message, and type whatever curse words you want into the subject and body. Moments later, you'll be free at last, able to enjoy life without a care. HTH. --Danny, cc'ing the list so anyone else tired of this f'in BS can also get out now

That was the original poster's header I copied. Mine says: User-Agent: KMail/1.6.2 But most of our clients use Outlook. Troubleshooting mail problems would be so much easier if I can see the headers. -- Kind regards Hans du Plooy Newington Consulting Services hansdp at newingtoncs dot co dot za

Oops, I did not notice which client you are using, but your mail was just flame-bait that I could not resist.. :-) Anyway, it would be much better if people would use decent mail clients. I seem to remember though that Outlook does (did) have a way to view the mail in raw format, but you have to go through many clicks. That was way back in the dark ages when I last had to use Outlook. Maybe another way is to save the mail as a text file? Dunno if that will work though, just an idea. You're probably thinking of the "view source" option that Outlook has (had?). Fortunately, our "corporate email" solution is IMAP read via either Thunderbird or whatever other reader the user wants to use (so long as the admin approves, and I'm pretty flexible). As a side effect of this enilghtened (so I like to believe) policy, I don't know how to view full headers in modern Outlook. I'm a happier admin for it, though. :) --Danny, suggesting "forward as attachment" for future debugging needs...

That's easy.. Open the message. Select view > options . The headers are at the bottom of the box. Mike -- Powered by SuSE 9.1 Kernel 2.6.4 KDE 3.2.1 Kmail 1.6.2 For SuSE Mondo/Mindi backup support go to http://www.mikenjane.net/~mike 6:42pm up 5 days 1:05, 4 users, load average: 1.13, 1.12, 1.11

You mean BS like the unprofessional crap you just spewed??? Get a clue if you can't read the bottom of every email for the unsubscribe info. And being totally clueless, you probably changed your email address and are trying to unsub with a different address than you originally subscribed with. In cases such as these, couldn't the SuSE webmaster put the user out of his misery? He's getting nowhere. We can't help him anymore and a painless injection is all that's needed. Surely it's the humane thing to do. Is there still anyone on the list who has anything to do with SuSE these days? Just an idea. Cheers from Steve.

Did you SmartStart this server and choose Linux as the OS? Make sure you do the complete erase first and start with a clean machine. Stan
