Hi, I have not done this with SuSE, so I don't know if it would work, but I did do it with Redhat 7.1 through 7.3 in the following. I checked the ftp archive for the exact filenames of the iso images of the install cds, for example (but just guessing) rh_7-3_seawolf_disk1.iso or something such, ect. Then I made images of the cds using: dd if=/dev/cdrom of=rh_7-3_seawolf_disk1.iso and so on of all the discs and put the images in the root directory of one partition (not the one you would want to install to or are going to format during the install). Or you could just download the images if you have the means. Just ensure the filenames of the images are exactly correct, especially if it's on a FAT partition (case might get messed up). Create your boot stiffy and boot from it. At some piont it will ask you to select the tipe of media, choose hard drive and type in the partition device name such as: /dev/hda1 That's all there was to it. Again, I don't know if the SuSE installed handles it the same, but at least I know RH uses the images, not the files directly. The only type of install I've done that uses the files directly was through FTP. Here I didn't make seperate directories for each CD, I copied the contents of all the CDs into the same directory (preserving the respective subdirs). Then I chose ftp install and gave it the ip and address, such as: 192.168.1.31/pub/rh/71/ Hope this helps Hans
