As I was looking over the CUPS installation files in Yast2, I notice there is about 25mb of printer drivers also. Are these printer drivers the same ones that come with GIMP-Print, which also uses CUPS or is GIMP-Print a whole other world of drivers specifically for GIMP? CUPS sounds very nice and I like the sound of level of control you have, but GP sounds good too and very beneficial when using GIMP! Thanks for your input and suggestions. end of line Tracer -- ---KMail 1.3--- SuSE Linux v7.2--- Registered Linux User #225206 /tracerb@sprintmail.com/ *Magic Page Products* *Team Amiga* http://home.sprintmail.com/~tracerb

Gimp-print are a separate bunch of higher-quality drivers - I don't think they work on as many different printers as the standard Foomatic CUPS drivers, but they provide noticeably higher quality output. To use them in CUPS, simply compile them with the --with-cups flag. cheers, Gideon.
