[opensuse] yast software installer segmentation fault
The other day, I completely forgot that I was updating packages when I exited my window manager. Now, when I try to run the software installer, when it tries to read the package database, I get a window with the following message: YaST got signal 11 at YCP file /usr/share/YaST2/clients/inst_packages.ycp:36 /sbin/yast2: line 421: 23189 Segmentation fault $ybindir/y2base $module "$@" "$SELECTED_GUI" $Y2_GEOMETRY $Y2UI_ARGS When I click "OK", the whole thing closes. I found a bug report about it on Novell's bugzilla, but there was no apparent solution (despite the report being closed) and it didn't give me any useful information. I tried rpm --rebuilddb just in case I'd screwed that up somehow, but that didn't make a difference. Any ideas? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

In case you use the KDE:Qt repo. remove it and downgrade the qt4 packages. This has been discussed many times on the mailinglist as well as on the forums. Sven -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

My apologies. I get so many emails that I just skim through or even skip most of them. And actually, when I removed the QT repo, I could no longer find QT among the available packages. So I added QT44 and that did the trick. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
